Project Details
As part of a global movement, New Zealand Red Cross needed an identity that aligned with international partners while reflecting the unique context of Aotearoa.

Working in partnership with MakeReady, NAIA supported the development of a visual identity that holds both ambitions. The designs draw from the existing Red Cross identity and the tagline “Here for Humanity”, connecting the kaupapa to Kurawaka and Hineahuone. We developed a visual language from Te Whare Pora, weaving together values of peace, protection, and connection that sit at the heart of what NZRC does.
Mahi Tahi
The partnership
We worked in partnership with MakeReady, NZRC's longstanding design partner. The collaboration meant the Māori design elements we developed could be woven directly into the established Red Cross brand framework, maintaining international recognisability while grounding the identity in Aotearoa.
Te Kōrero
Brand story
Building on the existing Red Cross identity, we shaped a visual language through the narrative of Kurawaka and Hineahuone. Guided by the traditions of Te Whare Pora, 'Here for Humanity' became a unifying thread, weaving together the values of care, protection and connection at the heart of New Zealand Red Cross.

The new identity launched in the 2025 NZRC Annual Report and is now live nationwide across the website, charity stores, and printed collateral. It has been warmly received by NZRC and their communities across Aotearoa.
